J. Dickinson & Sons Ltd in Horwich is seeking a dedicated Class 1 Tramping Driver. You will operate our Class 1 vehicles safely and professionally, tramping four nights per week Mon-Thu, and collect and distribute waste across our territory while liaising with customers and staff.

Applicants should hold a valid Class 1 licence and a proven HGV driving history with a clean record. Training is provided for waste-industry experience; excellent communication and initiative are essential, with

Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Class 1 Tramper Driver to join our growing team. If you are self-motivated and committed to high standards of service, we are keen to hear from you.

The role

• driving our Class 1 vehicles in a safe and professional manner
• tramping out 4 nights per week (Mon-Thu), travelling across our territory as required
• collecting and distributing waste and waste products across our areas of operation
• liaising and communicating effectively with customers, members of the public and our team at J. Dickinson & Sons
• completing and recording pre-use and after-use checks on the vehicle
• representing the company in an appropriate and professional manner at all times

What you need

• valid Class 1 category driving licence
• proven working experience as an HGV driver, with a good driving record and no traffic violations
• previous experience working as an HGV driver in the waste industry would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided if you do not have this
• understanding of transport compliance and the Working Time Directive
• good written and verbal communication skills
• able to work proactively, independently and on own initiative

The package

• Starting pay £39,267 per annum, increasing after probation
• Plus £35 meal and night out allowance, paid per night out
• Monday to Friday (tramping out 4 nights Mon-Thu)
