Job summary

Perm Resource is seeking experienced Class 1 Tramper Drivers to join a busy transport operation in Scunthorpe. You will haul loads using curtain-sided vehicles and play a key role in keeping customers' supply chains running safely and on time.

The role is Monday to Friday with regular nights out and optional weekend work. Competitive hourly rates (£17–£21) apply, plus a night-out allowance, with ongoing, consistent work for reliable drivers who take pride in their vehicle and professional

Qualifications

• Class 1 (C+E) driving licence required.
• At least 1 year of Class 1 driving experience.
• Penalty points: no more than six.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of drivers' hours and working-time regulations.
• Professional, safety-conscious and dependable.
• Good communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete general haulage deliveries using curtain-sided vehicles.
• Tramp from Monday to Friday.
• Carry out vehicle and load-safety checks.
• Keep in regular contact with the transport team.
• Complete deliveries safely and on schedule.
• Follow drivers' hours, working-time and tachograph regulations.
• Represent the transport operation professionally while on the road.

The opportunity

We're looking for experienced Class 1 Tramper Drivers to join a busy and dependable transport operation in Scunthorpe.

This is more than simply moving a load from one location to another. You'll play an important part in keeping customers' supply chains running, ensuring every delivery is completed safely, professionally and on time.

The role involves general haulage using curtain-sided vehicles, with regular Monday-to-Friday work and optional weekend shifts. It's an excellent opportunity for a reliable driver who takes pride in their vehicle, communicates well and wants consistent, ongoing work.

What you'll be doing

• Completing general haulage deliveries using curtain-sided vehicles
• Tramping from Monday to Friday
• Carrying out vehicle and load-safety checks
• Keeping in regular contact with the transport team
• Completing deliveries safely and on schedule
• Following drivers' hours, working-time and tachograph regulations
• Representing the transport operation professionally while on the road

Hours and working pattern

• Monday to Friday
• Approximately 55-65 hours per week
• Optional weekend work available
• Regular nights out
• Ongoing work with immediate starts available

Pay rates

• Monday to Friday: £17.00 per hour
• Saturday: £19.00 per hour
• Sunday: £21.00 per hour
• Night-out allowance: £25.00 per night

What you'll need

• A valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
• At least one year of Class 1 driving experience
