Job summary

People Solutions is recruiting an HGV Class 1 Driver for night shifts in Wolverhampton. You will perform multi-drop deliveries, operate CE vehicles, and ensure loads are secured while adhering to regulations.

Valid UK C+E licence, CPC, and Tachograph cards are required, along with 12 months CE experience. Expect ongoing work, weekly pay, and opportunities for progression in a professional transport operation.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence.
• Minimum 12 months' experience driving CE vehicles.
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences.
• Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Excellent punctuality and timekeeping.
• Strong understanding of UK road transport regulations.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete Class 1 multi-drop deliveries (≈5 drops per shift).
• Operate HGV Class 1 / CE vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Carry out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly.
• Adhere to UK traffic laws and transport regulations.
• Communicate with transport office and customers.
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs.
• Assist with loading and unloading when required.

HGV Class 1 Driver - Nights – Stores

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Wolverhampton.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.

This role would suit applicants who have previously worked as an LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver and are looking for consistent night shift work within a professional transport operation.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday
• PM start times between 20:00 and 02:00

Rates of Pay:

• £18.25 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:

• Completing Class 1 multi-drop deliveries (approximately 5 drops per shift)
• Operating HGV Class 1 / Category C+E vehicles safely and efficiently
• Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all goods are loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to UK traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
• Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required

Essential Skills:
