Job summary

Manpower are recruiting HGV Cat C+E Class 1 Drivers for our client based in Northwich.

Salary is £38,670.53 per annum plus a Class 1 supplement of £1,439.88, paid monthly. Routes cover long‑distance deliveries from Glasgow to Essex, with multi‑drop work and a fixed rota.

Start times range 3:00–7:00 AM, typical shifts around 10 hours, up to 60 hours weekly when required, and no overtime. Benefits include 28 days holiday, pension, health scheme and Cycle to Work.

Qualifications

• Valid Category C+E licence.
• Minimum 2 years' Class 1 driving experience within the last 3 years.
• Current Driver CPC card required.
• Strong understanding of tachograph legislation.
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience preferred.
• Flexible and reliable approach; good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and act as a professional ambassador for the business.
• Complete all paperwork and electronic documentation accurately.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and personal presentation standards.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation including tachograph, WTD, CPC, and defect reporting.
• Support regular and relief delivery routes as required.
• Drive safely and professionally, adhering to Highway Code and speed limits.
• Champion Health & Safety standards at all times.

Salary

• £38,670.53 per annum plus a Class 1 supplement of £1,439.88
• Paid monthly

Working Hours & Shift Pattern

• Start times between 3:00 AM and 7:00 AM
• Typical shifts are around 10 hours
• Average of 5 days per week, with up to 6 days out of 7 when required
• Working pattern covers Sunday to Saturday
• Average of 48 hours per week over a rolling 26-week reference period
• Maximum of 60 hours in a single week where required
• Fixed rota pattern with schedules published weekly, providing approximately one week's notice
• No overtime available

Routes & Deliveries

• Long-distance routes covering areas from Glasgow to Essex
• Class 1 customer delivery work with multi-drop deliveries
• Following planned routes and schedules to provide consistent customer service
• Managing shop fixtures and deliveries in line with customer requirements

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
