Job summary

Culina Transport are recruiting permanent part-time HGV Class 1 drivers for our Carlisle depot to support our General Haulage operation, delivering to stores and RDCs across the region. The role is part-time with weekend shifts, typically starting between 05:00 and 07:00, with flexible patterns to suit your availability.

We offer pay rates from £17.60 to £18.41 per hour depending on shift, plus a £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence and ideally minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience
• Current DCPC and Tachograph cards
• Understand and comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation
• Able to carry out vehicle checks to ensure safety and report defects
• On-site health and safety requirements

Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Collections from Stores to load out to Factories and Distribution Centres
• Support General work including occasional store deliveries and loading/unloading cages
• Complete all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintain high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Work closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation

Job Description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at our depot in Carlisle to support our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are part time, working on a permanent basis, with ideal shift patterns available on Days below:

• Saturday and Sunday

Shifts typically start between 05:00-07:00. We offer flexibility in shift patterns, so if these start dates and times don’t quite suit your availability, let us know what you’re looking for, we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferences.

Pay Rates:

We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £17.60 to £18.41 per hour, depending on shift – giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

• Saturday and Sunday Day Shift - £17.60 per hour
• Bank Holidays - £18.41 per hour.

On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance

Qualifications

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
