Job summary

Workchain is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join its transport operation in Street. This permanent role offers regular daytime work and the opportunity to build a long-term driving career, with a competitive hourly rate and predictable shifts.

Key duties include driving HGV Class 1 vehicles, completing planned deliveries, carrying out vehicle checks, securing loads, and maintaining professional communication with customers and depot staff.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 entitlement.
• Previous experience in a Class 1 driving role.
• Tramper experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Complete planned deliveries and collections in line with schedules.
• Carry out vehicle checks and report any defects or issues.
• Ensure loads are secured correctly and delivery paperwork is completed.
• Follow road safety, transport and tachograph requirements.
• Maintain professional communication with customers, transport colleagues and depot staff.
• Work as a tramper when required, including overnight stays away from base.
