Job summary

Evri in Thames Valley, Thatcham is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver for bulk deliveries. You’ll join a fleet of Volvo vehicles, work Monday to Friday, 9-hour shifts, 45 hours per week, and receive a salary of £37,042.20 plus London Allowance.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading as required, scanning consignments, and ensuring on-time delivery to customers. You’ll inspect your vehicle daily and complete defect reports as needed; a Class 1 licence and Driver CPC are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with CPC required.
• Experience driving lorries preferred.
• Knowledge of road transport laws and safety.

• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicle to consignments ensuring on-time delivery.

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and 9-hour shifts per day. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where you’ll be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

We don’t micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes. The average number of stops in a shift is 4 to 6, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy being out on the open road. The role is based on 45 paid hours per week, typically worked as 9 paid hours per day, Monday to Friday, with an additional 1-hour unpaid break each day.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
