Job summary

Smart Solutions is recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 driver to join a Widnes client fleet operating Artic Walking Floor trailers.

Role involves safe deliveries, daily vehicle checks and tachograph record-keeping, with a focus on driver hours compliance and customer service at points of collection and delivery. 40-hour weeks, Monday to Friday, with overtime available and a clear path for progression.

Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 licence.
• Valid CPC qualification.
• Digital Tachograph card.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class 1 HGV vehicles and Artic Walking Floor trailers.
• Complete collections and deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain accurate digital tachograph records.
• Ensure compliance with Driver Hours and Working Time regulations.
• Provide professional customer service at collection and delivery points.

HGV Class 1 Driver

Position: Permanent, Full-Time (Artic Walking Floor), Monday to Friday

Earnings: £15.26/hr basic | £19.07/hr Overtime

OTE: £49,590 (Based on an average 58-hour week)

Location: Widnes, WA8 area

Smart Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our client based in Widnes, operating Artic Walking Floor trailers.

The Role

• Operating Class 1 HGV vehicles and Artic Walking Floor trailers
• Completing collections and deliveries safely and efficiently
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
• Maintaining accurate digital tachograph records
• Ensuring compliance with Driver Hours and Working Time regulations
• Providing professional customer service at collection and delivery points

Working Hours

• 40 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• Additional shifts and overtime available as required

Pay Rates

• £15.26 per hour basic rate
• Overtime after 40 hours paid at 1.25x
• Saturdays paid at 1.5x
• Bank Holidays paid at 2x

Requirements

• Valid UK HGV Class 1 licence
• Valid CPC qualification
• Digital Tachograph card
• Strong communication skills and professional attitude
