Contract Furniture Manufacturing Ltd in Pontefract/Castleford seeks a HGV Class 1 Driver for full-time, permanent work delivering furniture to Care Homes across the UK and moving stock between Pontefract and Castleford depots. You will start early, roughly 5:00am, with variable finish times to meet delivery schedules and travel demands.
The role involves loading/unloading, maintaining safety checks, and providing reliable service.
Reporting to: Warehouse & Logistics Manager
As a forward-thinking company with ambitious plans for the future, we are looking for talented and enthusiastic individuals to join our team, helping us grow and evolve together.
Due to our continued growth, we require an HGV Class 1 Driver to join us on a Full-time, permanent basis delivering furniture to Care Homes across the UK as well as moving stock between our two sites in Pontefract and warehouse in Castleford
Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, based on a 40-hour working week. However, due to the nature of the role and nationwide deliveries, flexibility is essential as start and finish times will vary to meet delivery schedules, travel times, customer requirements and business needs.
Start times may be as early as 5:00am, and finish times will vary depending on delivery locations and operational requirements. As a result, some working days may be longer or shorter than standard hours.
You must be able to travel to our Pontefract depot for early starts and be willing to travel throughout the UK.
Occasional overnight stays will be required. Hotel accommodation and a meal allowance will be provided.
As this role forms part of the wider Logistics function, drivers will be required to assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles as part of a team and support warehouse and logistics colleagues as required. While drivers are not expected to carry out loading and unloading activities alone, the role does involve manual handling and therefore requires a good level of physical fitness. During periods of reduced delivery activity, drivers may be required to work from one of the Company’s depots, undertaking duties such as stock movements, goods-in and goods-out activities, warehouse support, housekeeping and other reasonable duties as directed by management.
Bonus Scheme: Discretionary bonuses are awarded twice annually, typically amounting to around 10% of the annual base salary. Eligibility for the bonus scheme begins after completing one full financial year of continuous employment with the company.
Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours.
