People Solutions is recruiting an HGV Class 1 Driver for a Tamworth, Staffordshire role. You will perform depot-to-depot trunking using curtain-side trailers, driving CE-category vehicles, and completing daily vehicle checks, with safety and load integrity as priorities.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence.
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences.

Responsibilities

• Complete 23 depot-to-depot trunking runs per shift.
• Operate curtain-side trailers (no handball).
• Drive Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks before and after shifts.
• Ensure loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations.
• Communicate effectively with transport office and customers.
• Report vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly.

HGV Class 1 Driver Trunking / Curtain Side Tamworth, Staffordshire

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Tamworth, Staffordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, consistent weekday work and genuine opportunities for long-term progression within a professional logistics environment.

This position is ideal for candidates seeking a role as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.

Shifts:

• Monday to Friday
• Start times between 15.00 18.00 (flexibility required)

Rates of Pay:

• £17.00 per hour Basic
• £19.14 per hour Saturday
• £25.18 per hour Sunday

Essential Skills:

To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:

• A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence
• A minimum of twelve month's Class 1 driving experience
• A valid Driver CPC qualification
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences
• No major endorsement codes
• A strong understanding of UK road traffic laws
• Excellent communication and timekeeping skills
• The ability to work independently and maintain professionalism

Desirable Experience:

• Previous commercial driving experience
• Experience completing trunking or depot-to-depot runs

Training Provided:

• Driver assessment required prior to starting
• One-day paid induction following successful assessment
