Job summary

People Solutions is recruiting an HGV Class 1 Driver for a Tamworth, Staffordshire role. You will perform depot-to-depot trunking using curtain-side trailers, driving CE-category vehicles, and completing daily vehicle checks, with safety and load integrity as priorities.

The role offers weekday shifts, ongoing work, weekly pay, and paid training with induction. Strong communication and timekeeping are essential for success in a professional logistics environment.

Qualifications

Valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence.
Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
Valid Driver CPC qualification.
Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
No more than six penalty points for minor offences.

Responsibilities

Complete 23 depot-to-depot trunking runs per shift.
Operate curtain-side trailers (no handball).
Drive Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently.
Carry out daily vehicle checks before and after shifts.
Ensure loads are secure and compliant with transport regulations.
Communicate effectively with transport office and customers.
Report vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly.
