Job summary

Culina Transport in Northampton is hiring permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to support our General Haulage Operations at Morrisons RDC. You will handle safe driving, excellent customer service, and dependable delivery standards across a variety of shifts from 5 from 7, including some weekends.

We offer full-time roles with day and night patterns. Key requirements include a valid C+E licence, DCPC & Tachograph cards, and compliance with drivers hours and WTD legislation.

Qualifications

• C+E licence held and valid DCPC & Tachograph cards.
• No more than 6 points and no DD/DR convictions.
• Understand and comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• General haulage with curtainside trailers to distribution centres and stores.
• Well planned multi-drop deliveries.
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation.
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance and professionalism.
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations.

Job description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at Morrisons RDC in Northampton to support our General Haulage Operations. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis and have a variety of shift patterns available working any from 5 from 7 across Days and Nights, some shift patterns will include weekend working.

Shift times

• Days - start times between 00:00-04:00
• Nights- Start times between 15:00- 23:00

Pay Rates

• Mon - Fri Day Shift - £15.15 per hour
• Mon-Fri Night Shift - £16.35 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Day Shift - £18.15 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Night Shift - £18.65
• Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour.

Driver Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Well planned multi-drop deliveries
• No requirement for Manual Handling
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.

You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers) No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions. Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards. Understand and able to comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation. Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly. Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements. Excellent communication skills.
