Job summary

Culina Transport is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to support our Bridgwater operations. You will deliver goods safely and on time, handle routine trailer duties, and work within fixed shift patterns designed for work-life balance.

The role requires a valid C+E licence, DCPC/tachograph, and adherence to drivers' hours and safety rules. Weekend shifts and overtime are available with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence (HGV Class 1).
• Minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (New Pass Drivers considered).
• No more than 6 points; no DD/DR convictions.
• Current DCPC & tachograph cards required.
• Ability to understand and comply with Driver's Hours and WTD legislation.
• Carry out vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• On-site health and safety compliance expected.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• General haulage using curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores.
• Store collections and returns to Distribution Centres.
• Complete vehicle safety checks and related paperwork.
• Work closely with the transport team to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain high safety, compliance and customer service standards.
• Adhere to Drivers' Hours, WTD and tachograph legislation.
• Support operational needs, including occasional loading/unloading.
• Trunking work as required by operations.

We are currently recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team at Morrisons RDC, Bridgwater . This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers looking for secure, full-time employment with competitive rates of pay and regular work.

We have fixed shift patterns available, offering stability and work-life balance while supporting our busy transport operation.

Available Shift Patterns

Thursday to Monday

Start time between 12:00-14:0

Weekend working is included within the shift pattern.

Pay Rates

Base Rates

• Monday to Friday Days £18.05 per hour
• Monday to Friday Nights £21.66 per hour
• Saturday & Sunday Days £19.86 per hour
• Saturday & Sunday Nights £23.47 per hour

Overtime Rates

• Monday to Friday Days £27.08 per hour
• Monday to Friday Nights £30.69 per hour
• Saturday & Sunday Days £28.88 per hour
• Saturday & Sunday Nights £32.49 per hour

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you'll play a key role in supporting our transport operation, ensuring goods are delivered safely, professionally, and on time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• General haulage using curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Store collections and returns to Distribution Centres
• Completing vehicle safety checks and associated paperwork
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure efficient operations
• Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service
• Adhering to Drivers' Hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation
• Supporting operational requirements, including occasional loading and unloading where required
• Trunking work available subject to operational requirements

You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)

No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.

Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.

Understand and able to comply with Driver's hours and WTD legislation.

Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.

Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.

Excellent communication skills.
