Job summary

Culina is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at Tesco Dirft Central Distribution Centre in Daventry on our General Haulage operation. You will complete deliveries across the region and work a mix of day and night shifts.

Pay rates range from £15.15 to £18.96 per hour, with a £5 per shift meal allowance and £25 per night out allowance where applicable. We offer 28 days holiday, uniform and PPE, DCPC training, life assurance from day one and a range of employee benefits.

Qualifications

• C+E licence required.
• Minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience; new passes considered.

Responsibilities

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers to distribution Centres and Stores.
• Collects from stores to load out to factories and DCs.
• Occasional store deliveries and loading/unloading cages as required.
• Complete vehicle checks and maintain safety, compliance, and professionalism.
• Collaborate with transport team to ensure smooth operations; adhere to drivers hours and tachograph rules.

Job Description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us working from Tesco Dirft Central Distribution Centre in Daventry on our General Haulage operation, completing store and RDC deliveries across the region. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis.

Days (Between 00:00-02:00 starts)available working any 5 days from 7.

Nights (between 16:00 - 19:00 starts) available working any 5 days from 7.

Weekend work may be required depending on demand.

Pay Rates:

We have increased our pay rates, with rates now ranging from £15.15 to £18.96 per hour, depending on shift – giving you even more reason to build your driving career with us.

• Mon-Fri Days - £15.15per hour
• Mon-Fri Night Shift - £16.35 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Day Shift - £18.15 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Night Shift - £18.65per hour
• Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour.

On top of base salary our HGV Drivers will be entitled to £5 per shift tax-free meal allowance, and £25 per night out tax‑free allowance (if applicable)

Driver Responsibilities:

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Collections from Stores to load out to Factories and Distribution Centres
• Supporting General work, including occasional store deliveries and requirement to load and unload cages
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.

Qualifications

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
