Job summary

Evri is hiring a HGV Class 1 Driver in Leicester for night shifts with a 45-hour week. You will operate a modern Volvo fleet, typically starting at 5/6pm, and be home after every 9-hour shift.

You’ll trunk to regional hubs, load/unload at sites, and scan consignments while maintaining safety and vehicle inspections. Annual leave is generous and progression opportunities exist within our network.

Qualifications

• Class 1 driving licence required.
• Driver CPC qualification card essential.
• DCPC training hours completed or in progress.
• Strong knowledge of road transport laws and safety.

Responsibilities

• Trunking to regional hubs on the night shift and planning routes independently.
• Ensure pallets, cages, freight and stillages reach customers on time.
• Load/unload duties at sites where required or drive pallet trucks when needed.
• Inspect the vehicle and trailer daily and log any defects.

WhatYou’llDo:

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.They’rea joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sureyou’recomfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and9-hourshifts per day which typically start at5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance whereyou’llbe driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

Wedon’tmicromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

You’llmake sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time.At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,you’llneed to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

You’llbe responsible forinspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
