Job summary

Evri in Milton Keynes is recruiting for permanent night-shift lorry drivers. You will operate a Class 1 lorry from our modern fleet in a 45-hour week with 9-hour shifts starting around 5–6pm, Monday to Friday.

The role involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift, loading/unloading where required, scanning consignments and using pallet trucks. Daily vehicle inspections and defect reporting are expected.

Qualifications

• Class 1 Driving licence required at a minimum.
• DCPC training hours completed or in progress.
• Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and safe road use.

Responsibilities

• Trunk goods to regional hubs on the night shift.
• Drive a lorry from our Volvo fleet and manage pallets, cages, freight and stillages.
• Scan consignments and drive pallet trucks when required.
• Inspect vehicle and trailer daily and file a Defect Report if needed.

You will drive a lorry from our exceptional fleet of Volvo vehicles, all less than 4 years old.?Theyre?a joy to drive, and are equipped to a high specification, including fridges, leatherseatsand many more optional extras to make sure?youre?comfortable.

Most of our sites run from Monday to Friday, with 45 hour working weeks, and?9-hour?shifts per day which typically start at?5/6pm. Our well-organised shift schedules mean you often know in advance where?youll?be driving, taking the stress out of your day.

Key Role Responsibilities

We?dont?micromanage our drivers. We trust them to get the job done and plan their own routes.?This job involves trunking to regional hubs on the night shift. So, if you like the independence of being out on the open road for long stretches - but also want to be home again at the end of every 9-hour shift, this is the job for you.

Youll?make sure Cages, Pallets, Freight, Stillages and Yorks get to and from customers bang on time. At some sites, the goods will be loaded or unloaded for you - at others,?youll?need to do it yourself. Scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks will sometimes be part of your day.

Youll?be responsible for?inspecting your vehicle and trailer every day and complete a Defect Report if necessary.
