Job summary

People Solutions are recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client in Birmingham. The role offers excellent hourly rates, weekly pay, and a genuine temporary to permanent opportunity, with no dropped shifts.

Shifts are Monday to Friday with start times between 03:00 and 06:00. Duties include trunking routes, safe operation of CE vehicles, pre/post checks, and accurate paperwork. A CE licence, CPC, and Tachograph card are required, with at least two years CE experience.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Category CE (HGV Class 1) licence.
• Driver CPC qualification card.
• Digital Tachograph card.
• Minimum two years CE driving experience.
• Limited penalty points (≤6) for minor offences.
• Knowledge of Driver Hours Regulations and WTD.

Responsibilities

• Complete depot-to-depot trunking routes and trailer swaps.
• Safely operate CE (HGV Class 1) vehicles.
• Conduct pre-use and post-use vehicle safety inspections.
• Ensure loads are secured and compliant with regulations.
• Maintain accurate transport paperwork and delivery docs.
• Communicate delays to transport office and deliver reliably.
