Job summary

Biffa Waste Milton Keynes Depot is seeking an HGV Chargehand Technician to maintain and repair a diverse fleet, from light vans to 44t assets, ensuring DVSA and health & safety compliance. The role involves scheduled preventative service and inspections, fault finding, and timely repairs to keep operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 HGV/PSV apprenticeship, Technician level status, a valid car/van licence, and ideally an HGV licence or IRTEC qualification.

Qualifications

• Fully skilled with Level 3 HGV/PSV apprenticeship qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ).
• Technician level with driving licence.
• HGV licence desirable and IRTEC qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles and waste handling equipment to meets DVSA requirements.
• Carry out scheduled preventative service and maintenance inspections.
• Learn and develop technical knowledge across a diverse fleet.
