CDH Recruitment Limited seeks HGV Class 1 drivers for ongoing contracts in East Sussex and Kent. The role covers the South East with various shift patterns including days, nights and weekends.

This field-based, full-time position involves delivering for multiple clients and requires a HGV1 licence, CPC, and digi tachograph. Applicants with up to six points, no DD/DR/INT endorsements, and a willingness to take a client driving assessment will be considered.

Formación

• HGV Class 1 licence with valid digi tachograph and CPC.
• Minimum 6 months experience driving a HGV1.
• Licence must have no more than 6 points and no DD/DR/INT endorsements.
• Willing to undergo a driving assessment with the client if required.

Responsabilidades

• Drive deliveries across the South East of England for various clients.
• Maintain exemplary appearance and attitude as a company representative.
• Remain calm and resolve issues with customers or the company.
• Be courteous and polite during deliveries.
• Do not leave deliveries unattended without depot authorisation.
• Inspect the vehicle and log defects before setting off.
• Perform multi-drop deliveries and use a pallet truck.
• Couple/uncouple trailers and follow delivery paperwork.
• Use PDA scanners for deliveries.

We are looking for HGV 1 drivers to join our Company, within the East Sussex and Kent areas. To carry out deliveries all over the South East of England for various clients. This is an ongoing contract with various shift patterns, ranging from days, nights and weekends.

Main Duties

• As a representative of the organisation your general appearance and attitude must all be exemplary.
• Drivers must have a 'can-do’ attitude at all times. If there’s a problem, it is your responsibility to help resolve it, either through your own initiative or by working with the customer or the Company to reach a positive outcome.
• If a customer becomes difficult you should always remain calm, acknowledge the problem and not take anything personal.
• When making a delivery, always be courteous and polite.
• If a customer is not available to take the delivery, it is important that the delivery is not left unattended, unless prior authorisation has been given by the depot.
• Before setting off you must carry out an inspection of the vehicle and record all defects.
• Must be able to move heavy objects. Carry out multi drops and able to use pallet truck.
• Must be able to strap loads correctly and able to couple and uncouple trailers.
• Must be able to carry out multi drop deliveries and follow correct paperwork procedures for deliveries.
• Must be able to use PDA scanners.

Essential requirements

• Must have a HGV 1 licence, with valid digi tacho and CPC card.
• Must have previous 6 months experience of driving a HGV 1.
• We cannot accept drivers that have more than 6 points on their licence and have been convicted of a DD, DR, INT endorsement.
• Applicants must be prepared to take a driving assessment with the client prior to placement if necessary.
