Job summary

HG Recruitment is recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers in North Somerset (BS40 5ES). Shifts include days, nights, weekends with competitive hourly rates and potential for up to £60k annual earnings depending on shifts. Roles involve temperature-controlled transports, strict load security, and customer-facing duties with excellent support and ongoing training.

Expect 8+ hour shifts, consistent work, pension scheme, and 24/7 support. Registration and right-to-work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence and Digi Tacho & CPC cards.
• Maximum 6 points for minor endorsements.
• Experience with temperature-controlled vehicles preferred.
• Knowledge of WTD and Driver Hours regulations.
• Strong customer-facing skills and reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Operate temperature-controlled vehicles safely to transport goods.
• Deliver to RDCs and distribution points on schedule.
• Complete vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Secure loads and maintain temperature compliance.
• Communicate with Transport Office and adapt to instructions.
• Provide excellent customer service and be punctual.
• Work reliably and with a flexible, can-do attitude.

HGV Class 1 | North Somerset, BS40 5ES

Days, 09:00 am starts

HG Recruitment are recruiting HGV Class 1 drivers in partnership with our client.

RATES:

• Monday – Friday:
  Days 06:00 – 17:59 (First 45 hours worked) – £17.50ph
  Days after 45 hours worked – £20.00ph
• Nights 18:00 – 05:59 – £20.00ph
  Nights after 45 hours worked – £22.50ph
• Weekend:
  From 06:00 Saturday – 06:00 Monday – £23.00ph
• Bank Holidays:
  £23.00ph

Estimated weekly pay based on 4–5 shifts (approx. 48–60 hours): £900 – £1,250
Expected annual earnings: up to £50k–£60k (dependent on shifts worked)

DUTIES:

• Adhering to safe working practices to always ensure the safety of yourself and others.
• Operating temperature-controlled (refrigerated) vehicles to transport goods safely.
• Ensuring loads are secured and temperature compliance is maintained.
• Completing deliveries to RDCs and distribution points.
• Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting any defects to the Transport Office.
• Possess excellent customer-facing awareness skills.
• Be a good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised.
• Possess an enthusiastic and reliable attitude towards delivering first-class customer service.
• Must have good communication skills and a flexible, can-do attitude to work.
