Job summary

Tate is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee a busy estate in Portsmouth, ensuring safety, compliance and efficient operations across historic properties. You will lead maintenance, manage budgets, coordinate contractors and drive workplace improvements.

The role emphasises building safety, stakeholder communication and a proactive, solutions-focused approach within a nationally recognised heritage organisation.

Qualifications

• IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Strong understanding of facilities compliance and building operations.
• Experience managing contractors and suppliers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing planned and reactive maintenance across the estate.
• Overseeing contractor performance and service delivery.
• Ensuring compliance with all health, safety and statutory regulations.
• Managing facilities budgets and controlling expenditure.
• Leading workplace improvement projects, office moves and refurbishments.
• Conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Supporting sustainability and environmental initiatives.
• Managing security processes and access arrangements.
• Producing facilities reports and performance metrics.
• Leading and supporting facilities team members where required.
