Job summary

The National Trust is seeking an experienced Buildings Supervisor to organise maintenance, reactive repairs, planned preventative maintenance programmes and a range of property projects across London and Surrey.

In this supervisory role you will work with external contractors, manage budgets and ensure programmes stay on time and within budget, while maintaining compliance and safety across Let Estate buildings.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of buildings pathology and remedial/planned works.
• Strong communication with contractors, tenants and colleagues.
• Understanding of construction legislation and risk management (asbestos, electrical safety).
• Awareness of restrictions on works to Listed Buildings and building ecology considerations.
• Computer literacy (email, Word, Excel, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance and repair of Let Estate buildings across London.
• Organise planned repairs for residential, agricultural and commercial properties.
• Manage budgets for conservation and maintenance with Estate Manager and Senior Building Surveyor.
• Develop relationships with contractors and monitor risk, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Guide and support the Lettings Officer and Estate Managers with property-related projects.
