The National Trust is seeking an experienced Buildings Supervisor to organise and manage maintenance work across South Downs properties, including cottages and farm buildings. The role focuses on budget-managed projects up to £200,000, supervising external contractors, and ensuring compliance and safety.

The successful candidate will split time between on-site work at Slindon Estate and office planning. Based at Slindon Estate, Sussex, Arundel area, you’ll coordinate repairs, refurbishments, and

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of buildings pathology and remedial planning.
• Strong communication with contractors, tenants and colleagues.
• Solid understanding of construction legislation and key risks (asbestos, electrical safety).
• Awareness of restrictions on works to Listed Buildings and ecology considerations.
• Proficient with common office software (email, Word, Excel) and a property management system.

Responsabilités

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance and repairs of Let Estate buildings across the South Downs.
• Manage cottage refurbishments and village-wide repairs and redecoration programmes.
• Organise planned repairs for residential, agricultural and commercial buildings.
• Manage delivery of budgets for conservation and maintenance with Estate Manager and Building Surveyors; develop relationships with contractors.
