Job summary

Parker Jones Group Ltd is seeking a Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of heritage conservation and historic building restoration projects across Suffolk. The role is ideal for an experienced Project Manager aiming to progress into contracts management, with a strong grounding in traditional building methods.

You will manage two to three projects at once, coordinate specialist trades and subcontractors, monitor costs and programmes, and ensure delivery to conservation standards and client

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing heritage conservation, restoration, or architectural conservation projects.
• Understanding of traditional building materials and conservation principles.
• Experience coordinating site teams and subcontractors.
• Strong organisational and commercial skills with multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management.
• Proactive approach to delivery, quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of multiple heritage conservation and historic building restoration projects concurrently.
• Develop and monitor project programmes to ensure on-time, in-budget delivery.
• Coordinate specialist trades, conservators, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor costs, budgets and expenditure, identifying commercial risks.
• Assist with estimating, tendering, pricing and procurement activities.
• Administer contract variations, valuations and cost reporting.
• Maintain relationships with clients, architects, consultants and stakeholders.
• Oversee quality control to meet project specifications and conservation standards.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and contract requirements.
• Resolve project challenges to maintain progress and minimise disruption.
• Provide regular updates on performance, programme, costs and delivery.
