Job summary

Farming Partners in Dumfries is seeking a hands-on Herd Manager / 2IC for a 500+ cow, grass-based dairy farm. The role involves day-to-day farm management, herd performance, grazing planning and leading the farm team.

Ideal candidates will have good practical dairy farming experience, be ambitious and eager to learn, with a focus on progressing into farm management and developing their career within Farming Partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee herd health, fertility, welfare and performance.
• Manage grazing and grassland plans.
• Organise, motivate and lead the farm team.
• Monitor performance and drive farm targets.
• Maintain high standards of animal husbandry and farm presentation.
• Support and develop other team members.
• Take responsibility for the farm when the Farm Manager is away.
