Job summary

Menter a Busnes in Southern Scotland is seeking an experienced Head Dairyman/Head Herdsperson to lead a large dairy herd and coordinate herd-health with veterinary partners. This is a leadership role, with milking duties rarely required.

You will supervise an established farm team, implement vaccination programmes, monitor animal welfare, and maintain accurate health records while promoting a positive working environment.

Qualifications

• Proven dairy farming experience with herd-health knowledge.
• Experience supervising a farm team and coordinating with veterinary staff.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Take a leading role in herd health, welfare and performance.
• Coordinate herd-health plans with the farm's veterinary team.
• Oversee vaccination programmes and preventative health measures.
• Maintain accurate herd-health records and lead the farm team.
• Promote a positive working environment and ensure coverage across 7 days.
