Herdsperson - Leicestershire - Dairy Farm - £35,000 + Accommodation

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Herdsperson to join a progressive dairy farm.

The farm has a 420 cow dairy herd operating a split block calving system, with the cows both housed and grazed throughout the year. The farm is operated as part of a close knit team, with an emphasis on high standards of cow care, attention to detail and working well together. This is a hands on role suited to someone who is confident working with dairy cows and is looking to take responsibility within an established team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Milking and general herd husbandry
• Cow health and welfare
• Fertility and heat detection
• Supporting the split block calving system
• Foot health and mobility
• Routine treatments and preventative herd health
• Calf and youngstock work as required
• Maintaining accurate records
• Working closely with the wider farm team and following agreed protocols

Candidate Requirements
