Citizens Advice Derbyshire Districts is recruiting a Help to Claim Adviser to join our busy advice services team in the East Midlands. You will provide guidance on Universal Credit and related benefits to the public, helping people navigate the system from enquiry to first payment.

Based in Buxton, Chesterfield, Ilkeston or Matlock with a hybrid mix of home and office working, the role offers full training, supportive supervision and the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.

Competenze

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Empathetic, non-judgmental approach to people.
• Strong IT and digital skills, quick to learn new systems.
• Commitment to working to performance targets and KPIs.
• Solid understanding of the current welfare benefits system (preferred).

Mansioni

• Provide advice to the public on Universal Credit and related benefits.
• Support claimants with queries up to first payment via telephone and webchat (8am–6pm, Mon–Fri).
• Join the national Help to Claim service as part of the advice team.
• Full training and ongoing support provided for the right trainee candidate.
