Job summary

The Heavy Vehicle Technical Officer role supports DVSA in ensuring heavy vehicles meet statutory testing and approval requirements. You’ll assess complex vehicle applications such as first tests, conversions, and type-approved vehicles, ensuring compliance with legislation and DVSA standards.

• Experience evaluating heavy vehicle applications and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional assessment of heavy vehicle statutory test applications for first test and conversion, checking reports and documentation for compliance.
• Assess applications of approved vehicles via ECWVTA teams.
• Offer technical support to processing teams and act as advisory service to operators, manufacturers and public.
