Job summary

Qualifications

• Provide professional assessment of heavy vehicle statutory test applications for first test and conversions, ensuring compliance.
• Offer advisory support to non-technical teams and external stakeholders on DVSA services and regulations.
• Investigate solutions to mitigate risks and improve safety and service quality.
• Collaborate with policy teams on new requirements and publication clarity.
• Communicate clearly with customers to ensure understanding and timely responses.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional assessment of heavy vehicle statutory test applications for both first test and vehicle conversion, checking reports and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance.
• Undertake assessment of applications of approved vehicles via ECWVTA teams.
• Provide technical support to non-technical processing teams and act as advisory service to front line staff, operators, manufacturers, trade organisations, other agencies and the public.
• Investigate possible solutions to solve issues or mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with the Vehicle Policy Team on new initiatives and developing new requirements and standards.
• Communicate positively and effectively with internal and external customers to ensure a concise accurate response via technical inbox.
• Provide support to the Heavy Vehicle Processing Manager, representing DVSA at trade events and to carry out ad hoc related tasks.
• Maintain relevant data bases as required.
