Government Recruitment Service is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Technical Officer to join the DVSA-led vehicle services team in Carmarthen. You’ll assess complex vehicle applications, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as an advisor to operators, manufacturers, and front-line staff.

You will work with policy teams to develop new requirements, maintain high safety and service standards, and support a busy, customer-focused vehicle testing network.

Qualifikationen

• Experience assessing heavy vehicle statutory test applications.
• Ability to advise front line staff and external stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership to improve processes and policy alignment.

Aufgaben

• Provide professional assessment of heavy vehicle statutory test applications and conversions, checking reports and documentation for compliance.
• Undertake assessment of approved vehicle applications via ECWVTA teams.
• Provide technical support to non-technical processing teams and advise front line staff and operators.
• Investigate possible solutions to mitigate risks and improve safety.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Policy Team on new initiatives and regulatory changes.
• Communicate clearly with internal and external customers via the technical inbox; support the Heavy Vehicle Processing Manager.
