Job summary

Aira is seeking a Heating System Design Engineer to design and specify air source heat pump systems for domestic properties. You will conduct site surveys, collect data, and produce heat loss calculations to tailor emitter outputs, while ensuring compliance with current regulations and manufacturer guidance.

You will work closely with customers to explain proposals, manage changes, and compile material lists for installation, in a role that supports a clean energy transition and customer

Qualifications

• Must have qualifications, training and experience to design high quality air source heat pump installations for domestic properties.
• Knowledge of heat pump design guidance and building regulations is expected.
• Ability to gather data from quotes and surveys to produce heat loss calculations and emitter outputs.
• Willingness to stay up to date with manufacturer guidance and legislation related to heat pumps and low carbon heating.

Responsibilities

• Design high quality air source heat pump installations for domestic properties.
• Gather information from quotes, property and survey data to generate accurate heat loss calculations and emitter outputs.
• Resolve technical issues to ensure installations can proceed.
• Report issues to line manager from the customer site.
• Keep up to date with manufacturer guidance and building regulations.
• Operate within company efficiency guidelines and relevant standards.
• Attend customer properties for site surveys in your designated area.
• Carry out room-by-room heat loss assessments and determine radiator replacements.
• Create materials lists for installation.
