Job summary

Aira is seeking a Heating System Design Engineer to lead domestic air source heat pump installations. You will perform site surveys, collect data, and develop accurate heat loss calculations and emitter outputs to ensure installations meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

The role requires applying up-to-date guidance on heat pumps, low carbon heating, and building regulations, while aligning with Aira’s efficiency standards.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in system design such as Heat Geek Heating Mastery.
• Level 3 Award in installation and maintenance of air source heat pump systems (WRAS/course references may be useful).
• Level 2/3 Award in plumbing and Level 3 Award Low temperature heating and hot water systems are useful.

Responsibilities

• Attend designated area customer properties and conduct surveys.
• Gather data to generate heat loss calculations and emitter output requirements.
• Find solutions to technical issues to ensure installation can proceed.
• Report issues affecting installation to line manager.
• Keep up to date with manufacturer's guidance and building regulations.
• Operate within Aira efficiency guidelines and applicable standards.
