Job summary

MARCH is seeking an experienced Heating Supervisor to lead site teams on commercial mechanical projects across the North of Scotland, including Aberdeen. You will supervise day‑to‑day site operations, ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to quality standards.

The role requires a hands‑on leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing people and projects.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience supervising teams on mechanical/heating projects.
  • Strong planing and resource coordination skills.
  • Good reading of technical drawings & specifications.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Valid UK health and safety qualifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site teams on commercial heating projects and manage operations.
  • Ensure H&S standards are followed, RAMS, TBTs, and weekly reports are completed.
  • Plan daily site activities, labour and resources.
  • Ensure work aligns with drawings, specs, and programme.
  • Maintain high workmanship and quality control.
  • Enforce safe systems of work and site procedures.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, contractors and other trades.
  • Monitor progress and report productivity and delays.
  • Carry out inspections, testing coordination and snagging.
  • Mentor electricians, mates and apprentices on site.

We are seeking an experienced Heating Supervisor to lead site teams on commercial mechanical projects across the region. This role is responsible for supervising day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

The successful candidate will be a hands‑on leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing people and projects.

Projects will be based across the North of Scotland, including (but not limited to): Highland Moray, Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead teams on commercial heating projects, ensure quality standards, and manage site operations.
  • Ensure company H&S standards are implemented and upheld on site including completing and administering all RAMS, TBT’s, Weekly Returns and any other documentation in line with company policies.
  • Plan and manage daily site activities, labour, and resources.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with drawings, specifications, and programme.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality control.
  • Enforce site health & safety procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Liaise effectively with Project Managers, contractors, and other trades.
  • Monitor progress and report on productivity and any issues or delays.
  • Carry out site inspections, testing coordination, and snagging.
  • Support and mentor electricians, mates, and apprentices on site.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience in supervising teams and managing projects
  • SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Heating & Ventilation
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification (preferred)
  • ECS / CSCS card
Welding Experience Desirable But Not Essential.
  • Domestic and/or Commercial Gas Safe qualifications desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and pipework installation.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings & specification
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
  • First Aid at work (desirable, can be provided)
  • IPAF & PASMA (desirable, can be provided).
