Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Technical Manager to lead and assure technical compliance and lifecycle asset management across a hospital estate in the UK. You will oversee electrical, mechanical, water safety and healthcare systems, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and reliable operation.

You will manage authorised persons, develop governance frameworks, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with operational teams and stakeholders across projects and contractual obligations.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing technical compliance within a healthcare environment.
• Experience working within a PFI or PPP environment.
• Strong knowledge of NHS HTMs and healthcare engineering standards.
• Experience managing statutory compliance programmes.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience managing subcontractors and specialist service providers.
• Experience of lifecycle and asset management planning.
• Experience supporting CQC inspections and regulatory audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical compliance framework across the estate with inspections, testing, maintenance and certification.
• Coordinate Authorised Persons for Electrical, Medical Gas, Water Safety and Ventilation systems.
• Develop compliance dashboards and reporting mechanisms.
• Manage technical risk registers and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Provide technical leadership across electrical, mechanical, water hygiene and building systems.
• Support lifecycle planning and capital replacement programmes.
• Monitor and drive performance against KPIs and contractual requirements.
• Lead investigations into incidents and ensure auditable engineering documentation.
