North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Senior HCSW to support delivery of high-quality patient care in an NHS acute hospital. You will work alongside registered nurses and the multidisciplinary team, exercising leadership to colleagues and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• Evidence of care certificate qualification and NHS acute hospital experience.
• NVQ in health and social care is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality direct patient care and support daily living activities.
• Undertake and record clinical observations (e.g. NEWS2) and escalate concerns.
• Assist with clinical procedures within competency (e.g. ECGs, venepuncture, catheter care).

Job description

Deliver high-quality direct patient care, supporting patients with activities of daily living such as personal care, nutrition and mobility Undertake and record clinical observations (e.g. NEWS2), escalating concerns appropriately to registered staff Support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care, working under the direction of registered nurses Assist in the delivery of clinical procedures within competency (e.g. ECGs, venepuncture, catheter care where trained) Contribute to the admission, transfer and discharge processes, ensuring patients are supported throughout their pathway Act as a role model, promoting high standards of care, professionalism and compassionate practice Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and records Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and the multidisciplinary team, contributing to a positive patient experience Support a safe ward environment, adhering to infection prevention, moving and handling, and safeguarding procedures Contribute to maintaining stock levels, equipment readiness and general ward organisation Participate in training, competency development and ongoing learning, supporting both personal development and that of others Assist in ensuring the ward meets quality, safety and patient experience standards, To ensure that we continue to give the very best care to our patients we need to train and develop our staff. As a Band 3 Senior HCSW, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care, working alongside registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will bring experience, confidence and leadership within the HCSW role, acting as a role model and supporting more junior colleagues within the team. Previous experience in an acute hospital setting is preferred.
