Job summary

The Senior Clinical Support Worker role at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust forms part of our specialist major trauma service for the North Midlands and North Wales. You will undertake routine and delegated tasks from registered nurses, supporting patient care and safety while remaining flexible to shift patterns across seven days.

  • Execute tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.

Job description

We are the specialist centre for major trauma for the North Midlands and North Wales. The Senior Clinical Support Worker should demonstrate a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific skills and tasks delegated by the registered nurses. Undertaking both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent. Key to this role is the flexibility requirement for staff to work variable shifts over 7 days a week.

In relation to Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker roles, we are currently able to recruit successfully from the domestic labour market and have a sufficient pool of suitably qualified and appointable candidates. As a result, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. This position is kept under regular review and may change in the future should labour market conditions or service requirements alter.

Qualifications and Experience
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English.
  • If you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for you GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate.
  • A Full Care Certificate ORNVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ's from a regulated awarding body).
  • 12 months experience in a professional contract as a Healthcare Assistant or equivalent, Educated to GSCE level 4/C or Level 2 equivalent, including Maths and English (ECCTIS is required for overseas qualifications).
  • Hold a full Care Certificate or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (NVQ MUST be from an accredited awarding body).
