NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is inviting applications for a Healthcare Support Worker role within the Ophthalmology department. The successful candidate will support nursing staff and engage in patient care, with training provided. Ideal applicants are flexible, team-oriented, and possess strong communication skills.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this position is Monday to Friday. Please note that the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.
We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) based in the Ophthalmology outpatient department at Stobhill Hospital/GRI. The successful candidate will work as part of the Ophthalmology team, supporting the registered nursing staff and participating in all care activities within the outpatient setting. You will be expected to work in a busy clinical environment, collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team.
HCSW experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. We seek candidates who are flexible, forward-thinking, and capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills and a keen interest in the specialty are essential.
