An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join the Specialist Children’s Short Break Team at Dragon Square.
The service provides overnight short breaks for children and young people with severe learning disabilities and other complex needs such as behaviors of concern and health issues.
The role involves working as part of a team with registered nurses and support workers, collaborating with multi-agency teams including schools, social workers, consultants, and families to meet the needs of children and achieve positive outcomes. The role also involves supporting families and reducing the risk of family breakdown.
The Health Care Support Worker role is diverse, supporting children and young people in areas such as personal hygiene, diet, communication, cultural needs, health and wellbeing, social and sensory needs, and developing independence and daily living skills. There are many opportunities to support fun activities during short breaks.
