Job summary

NHS Dumfries and Galloway is seeking a Performance and Intelligence Analyst to join the Performance and Intelligence Team in Dumfries. The role involves turning complex data into clear insights to support acute services planning and decision-making, with in-person work at Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary.

You’ll work with hospital teams to spot trends, apply analytic methods, and build dashboards and reports that help clinicians and managers understand what actions to take to improve

Qualifications

• Experience analysing and interpreting data to support operational or corporate decisions.
• Confidence with data tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, R or Python.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality and governance.
• Ability to explain complex findings clearly in writing and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver near-time operational analysis to support performance improvement.
• Explore data to identify trends and emerging risks and opportunities.
• Apply methods like benchmarking and statistical tests to answer service questions.
• Build dashboards and write reports; present findings to stakeholders.
• Support acute and diagnostic services projects across departments.
