Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead engineering services across University Hospital Coventry, a major healthcare estate in the UK.

You will drive safety, compliance and operational performance to support outstanding patient care. Reporting to the Head of Estates, you will oversee mechanical, electrical and building fabric assets, manage contractors, and lead continuous improvement while building strong relationships with stakeholders and clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Hard FM engineering services within healthcare.
• Knowledge of HTMs, HBNs and healthcare compliance requirements.
• Experience managing engineering contracts and supply chain partners.
• Understanding of critical healthcare systems including electrical infrastructure, medical gases and ventilation.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering services across a large healthcare estate.
• Manage specialist contractors and engineering partners.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare, statutory and contractual requirements.
• Support planned maintenance, lifecycle programmes and capital projects.
• Drive service improvement and engineering best practice.
• Build relationships with client stakeholders and operational teams.
• Support development of engineering teams and future service planning.
