Job summary

Mitie is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the team at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW). You will deliver planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site, ensuring safety and reliable hospital operations to support patients and staff.

The ideal candidate will hold Level 3 electrical installation qualifications, AM2 and 18th Edition (BS 7671), with proven healthcare maintenance experience and CMMS usage.

Qualifications

• Level 3 City & Guilds Electrical Installation, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, or equivalent.
• AM2 Certification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Good IT skills and experience using maintenance management systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical repairs.
• Undertake electrical testing, inspections, fault finding, and certification works.
• Perform electrical safety checks and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
• Ensure compliance with current legislation, health and safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently, minimising disruption to hospital services.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using computerised management systems.
• Support the continuous improvement of maintenance programmes through proactive inspections and monitoring.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and hospital stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Level 3 City & Guilds Electrical Installation, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, or equivalent.
• AM2 Certification.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Good IT skills and experience using maintenance management systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Desirable

• Experience working within healthcare, commercial, or critical infrastructure environments.
• Inspection and Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent).
• Experience within Facilities Management or building services maintenance.
