Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is hiring a Credit Controller for a private healthcare organisation in Ashtead on an ongoing temporary contract. The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with hours 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

You will monitor debts from private patients, insurers and NHS bodies, chase payments, reconcile accounts and provide reporting on collections, liaising with billing teams to resolve queries and disputes.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control or debt collection.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn different finance systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage outstanding debts from private patients, insurers and NHS bodies.
• Ensure prompt collection of payments and minimise arrears.
• Follow up on overdue accounts via telephone, email and written correspondence.
• Liaise with patients, insurers and NHS Shared Business Services to resolve billing queries.
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies with billing/operational teams.
• Prepare reports on outstanding debts and collection performance.
• Manage complex debt recovery cases, including referrals to legal teams.
