Job summary

Circle Health Group's Bath Clinic is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join the nursing team on wards in Bath. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week with a permanent contract and flexible shift patterns to support patient care.

You will assist with personal care, help with eating and hydration, monitor basic observations after training, and collaborate with nurses and therapists to ensure safe, compassionate patient care. NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or health support role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
• Record routine observations (BP, pulse, RR, temp, SpO2, glucose) after training.
• Support basic clinical procedures (wound care setup, catheter care, pressure area prevention).
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas and equipment for patient use.
• Collaborate with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to support safe patient care.

Salary: Up To £28,576.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the nursing department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment in readiness for patient use.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
