The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join Circle Health Group. This full-time, 37.5-hour-per-week position offers a permanent contract with a competitive annual salary and a broad benefits package.

You will work on a flexible shift pattern, supporting patients with personal care, nutrition, and essential observations while collaborating with clinical and admin teams to ensure safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility.
• Help patients with eating, drinking and nutritional support, documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
• Record routine observations such as BP, pulse, resp rate, temp, SpO2 and blood glucose (after training).
• Support basic clinical procedures including wound care setup and catheter care.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas for patient use.
• Collaborate with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams.

The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle Is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff.

This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.
• Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
• Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
• Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment in readiness for patient use.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalated concerns appropriately.
• Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
