Job summary

Bath Clinic, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join the nursing department on a permanent 37.5 hour a week basis. Salary is up to £28,576 per year, depending on experience, training and qualifications. A flexible shift pattern will be required.

You will assist with personal care, nutrition support, and provide compassionate patient care alongside nurses, doctors and admin staff to ensure safe, high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care or health support role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns.
• Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
• Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care desirable.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control and confidentiality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care and mobility needs.
• Help patients with eating, drinking and nutritional support, documenting intake where appropriate.
• Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives.
• Carry out and record routine observations (BP, pulse, resp rate, temp, SpO2, glucose) after training.
• Support basic clinical procedures (wound care setup, catheter care, pressure area prevention, mobility aids).
• Prepare and maintain clinical areas, trolleys, beds and equipment for patient use.
• Work with nurses, doctors, therapists and admin teams to support safe patient care.

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in thenursing department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs, respecting their preferences and dignity.

Help patients with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including documenting intake where appropriate.

Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.

Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).

Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, assisting with catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aids.

Prepare and maintain clinical areas, including trolleys, beds, and equipment in readiness for patient use.

Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).

Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.

Ability to follow instructions and escalates concerns appropriately.

Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.

Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.

Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
