Job summary

Southover Medical Practice in Torquay is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant with general practice knowledge to join our supportive team. You will assist with patient care and work closely with clinicians and the Nurse Lead.

Key duties include phlebotomy, health checks, BMI, blood pressure, wound care, and administrative tasks like registrations, leaflet provision, and stock control. The role requires familiarity with CQC requirements, confidentiality and data security, and a flexible

Qualifications

• Experience in a Primary Care setting and phlebotomy.
• Ability to work within processes while maintaining data security.
• Personable, polite, and patient with our patients; adaptable to changing priorities.
• Basic PC skills including Word, Excel and email.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient duties and supporting clinical staff with patient care.
• Ensuring compliance with CQC outcomes and maintaining standards at the practice.
• Working with patients with long-term conditions and phlebotomy.
• Providing clinical procedures such as health checks, BMI, blood pressure, pulse and wound care.
• Completing administrative tasks such as new patient registrations, leaflets, stock control and ordering.
