Axbridge & Wedmore Medical Practice is seeking an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our GP team for 16 hours per week. The successful candidate will support GPs, provide a range of patient care services, and help maintain infection control within the practice.

Key duties include phlebotomy, wound care, venepuncture, ECGs, and supporting minor procedures. Excellent communication and confidentiality are essential, with a focus on patient-centred care and teamwork.

• Previous experience as Health Care Assistant.
• Proven phlebotomy skills.
• Follow clinical protocols and standards.

• Confidentiality, safeguarding and infection control awareness.
• Commitment to person-centred care.
• Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
• Desirable: EMIS Web familiarity.
• Desirable: ECG training or experience.

Aufgaben

• Work with GPs and nursing team to provide holistic patient care.
• Carry out routine patient care tasks as directed by senior staff.
• Perform wound care, Doppler, and blood sample collection.
• Take new patient medicals and urinalysis; conduct ECGs and venepuncture.
• Support minor surgery and coil fittings for GPs when needed.
• Maintain infection control and patient records per policies.
• Attend practice meetings and participate in audits.
