About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated health, safety and/or resilience professional to join Stevenage Borough Council's Health, Safety and Resilience Team.
You will play a key role in supporting managers and employees across the Council to maintain safe, healthy and legally compliant workplaces. Working across a diverse range of services, you will provide practical health and safety advice, undertake audits, inspections and investigations, and help promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture throughout the organisation.
Reporting to the Health, Safety and Resilience Manager, you will support the delivery of the Council's health, safety, wellbeing and resilience programmes, ensuring that policies, procedures and safe systems of work remain effective and aligned with legislation and best practice.
The role covers a broad range of service areas, including housing and property services, environmental and operational services, community services and office-based functions. You will work closely with managers and employees to identify risks, develop practical solutions and support continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
You will also support the Council's wellbeing programme, helping to develop and promote initiatives that support employee health and wellbeing. In addition, you will provide support to the Council's resilience and emergency planning arrangements, contributing to business continuity activities and emergency preparedness work.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a developing health and safety or resilience professional to build experience across a wide range of services while making a meaningful contribution to the safety, wellbeing and resilience of the organisation.
