Job summary

Samworth Brothers is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead HSE strategy across its manufacturing sites. You will drive safety culture, coach teams, and monitor performance while ensuring compliance with environmental permits and ISO 14001 standards.

You will partner with site leaders, Engineering, Operations and People teams to build a proactive safety culture, lead investigations, and manage audits and regulator interactions.

Qualifications

• Significant HSE experience in manufacturing, ideally FMCG.
• NEBOSH Diploma (Level 6) in Health & Safety.
• IOSH Membership, ideally Chartered (CMIOSH).
• Proven experience developing and implementing HSE management systems.
• Strong track record driving safety culture and behavioural change.
• Experience managing audits, inspections and regulatory compliance.
• Expertise in incident investigation and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead Health, Safety and Environmental strategy and management systems across site/area.
• Drive a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Coach and support managers to fulfil HSE responsibilities.
• Monitor HSE performance, identify trends and implement improvements.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with environmental permits and ISO 14001.
• Manage internal and external audits, inspections and customer requirements.
• Act as the main contact for regulators and enforcement agencies on HSE matters.

Job description

As a Health & Safety Manager, you help keep colleagues safe every day. You lead health and safety activity across your site or area, making sure systems are effective, risks are controlled and standards are followed. You work closely with site leaders, Engineering, Operations and People teams to build a strong safety culture. You are a visible leader who supports others, challenges when needed and helps teams do the right thing.,

• Leading the site's Health, Safety and Environmental strategy and management systems.
• Driving a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Coaching and supporting managers and teams to fulfil their HSE responsibilities.
• Monitoring HSE performance, identifying trends and implementing improvement plans.
• Leading incident investigations and ensuring effective corrective actions.
• Maintaining compliance with environmental permits and ISO 14001 standards.
• Managing internal and external audits, inspections and customer requirements.
• Acting as the key contact for regulators, enforcement agencies, customers and emergency services on HSE matters.

• You'll bring significant HSE experience gained within manufacturing, ideally food manufacturing or FMCG
